Why does Dr Lachlan charge private fees?

Dr Lachlan is committed to providing high-quality, personalised medical care which includes easy appointment availability, longer appointment durations and wholistic care that focuses on you as a person and not just the issue that’s brought you in today.

While the cost of providing healthcare has increased significantly over the years, Medicare rebates have not kept pace with inflation. As a result, the rebate now covers only a portion of the cost of providing a comprehensive GP consultation.

General practitioners are specialist medical practitioners who complete many years of university education, hospital training and ongoing professional development. Private fees help support the time, expertise and resources needed to provide thorough, evidence-based care, maintain modern medical facilities, and spend adequate time with each patient.

Dr Lachlan strives to keep his fees fair and transparent. Medicare rebates are processed on your behalf at the time of your appointment wherever possible after payment of the total fee.
